The R.A.G.E/ The Record Spot

by Danny Wilson ———

From their very inception, Fade Street’s R.A.G.E and The Record Spot have served as emboldening examples to the city’s shopkeeps; the two stores’ combined success going to show that that following one’s passions needn’t be dismissed. In fact, communities can be built around ideas that many might once have dismissed as frivolous.

Spread over two floors, the upstairs houses the Record and Game Emporium (R.A.G.E), an Aladdin’s Cave of nostalgia, stuffed with the archaic consoles and countless discs and cartridges that enriched innumerable 90s childhoods.

Below decks, the visual takes a backseat as the focus is wholly placed of stimulation of auditory variety.

The Record Spot boasts one of the city’s most diverse vinyl and cassette tape selections. With a stacked collection of new and second-hand delights, the folks behind the scenes deftly balance “something for everyone” maximalism with an obvious curatorial nous.

From essentials required for every collection to hidden gems - The Record Spot has all your bases covered.

What to expect:

  • 90's games consoles of yore in pristine working order.
  • A staff of amiable enthusiasts.
  • Enough wax to make a queen bee blush. Lots of vinyl accessories too
